Half Day Workshop

This workshop provides participants with tools to enhance their speaking skills and develop their H.U.E. Participants will learn to use mindfulness to establish new speech habits to:

  • Develop breath control to create a powerful voice.

  • Reduce nervousness.

  • Monitor rate of speech for understanding and to hold interest.
  • Reduce verbal fillers to give words maximum impact.

  • Establish professional presence using confident body language.
  • Use vocal variety to better engage interest and attention

Full Day Workshop

This workshop provides participants with tools to enhance their speaking skills and develop their H.U.E. Participants will complete a Communication Self-Assessment, set goals for improved speaking, and learn to use mindfulness to establish new speech habits to:

  • Develop breath control to create a powerful voice.
  • Reduce nervousness.
  • Learn to use resonance for a vibrant voice.
  • Learn volume and projection to ensure words are heard.
  • Monitor rate of speech for understanding and to hold interest.
  • Use tone of voice to communicate intent of the message.
  • Reduce verbal fillers to give words maximum impact.
  • Change pronunciation patterns to be better understood.
  • Establish professional presence using confident body language.
  • Understand the impact of nonverbal communication the listener.
  • Use vocal variety to engage interest and attention.
  • Identify the role of active listening in conversation.

Public Speaking Series

Great communicators know that being heard, understood, and engaging enables them to make a great first impression. In this program, participants will learn tools and techniques to develop these three foundational communication skills.

Managers, advisors, and business management professionals are entrusted to provide information, education and guidance to individuals, families, and businesses.  Clear, confident communication is essential for building trust with employees, clients, and potential clients.  Furthermore, first impressions are often formed from the first word spoken. Determinations about the competence of a manager and business professional will be based on what they say and on how they say it.

Participants Will:

  • Receive a public speaking video assessment
  • Develop a Personal Speech Profile
  • Identify areas of strength and weakness in speaking, nonverbal communication, and body language
  • Set goals to create new speech habits
  • Incorporate client-specific presentation materials and topic-specific vocabulary.
  • Engage in role-play activities, including active listening and question and answer, to develop targeted skills.
  • Receive practice exercises for skill development in each area.

Learning Outcomes:

With completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Cultivate awareness of speaking and interpersonal communication skills in themselves and others to better monitor communication.
  • Convey confidence and competence in the professional setting.
